Everything workers and clients ask us most. Can't find what you need? Call us on 020 3987 9897.
Getting Started
Use our online registration form or call us on 020 3987 9897. We'll get back to you the same day and have you ready to work within 24 hours once your documents are verified.
Proof of right to work in the UK (passport, share code, or Home Office document), your CSCS card, photo ID, National Insurance number, your own bank account details, and any other relevant tickets such as traffic marshal, CPCS, NPORS, etc.
Most workers are registered and job-ready within 24–48 hours of first contact. How quickly you get your first shift depends on what's available for your role — we'll be straight with you about timescales.
Nothing at all. Registration is completely free. We never charge workers a fee to find them work, and we never take a cut of your wages.
On Site
Your Assignment Details will confirm exactly who to report to. Go directly to them, complete the site induction before starting any work, and make sure your hours are recorded from the start of your shift.
As a minimum: steel toe-capped boots, hi-visibility vest or jacket (EN ISO 20471 Class 2 minimum), and hard hat. Any additional site-specific requirements will be confirmed in your Assignment Details before you attend.
Contact EDA Group before 6:00am on the day. Do not contact the site directly to cancel unless we specifically tell you to. Repeated no-shows without notice will affect your future work with us.
Call EDA Group straight away on 020 3987 9897. Whether it's a safety concern, a dispute, or anything else — contact us first. We're there to support you throughout every assignment.
Your Rights
Yes — significant ones. From day one you have the right to at least National Minimum Wage, statutory holiday pay, legal rest breaks, and a safe working environment. After 12 continuous weeks in the same role with the same client, you gain the right to equal pay and conditions as a comparable direct employee. EDA Group tracks your 12-week milestone.
PAYE workers accrue holiday pay at 12.07% of pay earned. It builds up as you work and is paid when you take leave or at the end of an assignment. CIS self-employed workers are not entitled to statutory holiday pay — this should be factored into the rate you agree.
PAYE workers who are aged 22 to State Pension age and earn above the qualifying threshold will be automatically enrolled into EDA Group's workplace pension. You contribute a minimum of 5% and EDA Group contributes a minimum of 3%. You can opt out within one month of enrolment.
Using EDA Group
We respond to all vacancy requests the same working day. For most roles we can confirm availability and have workers on site within 24 hours of your request.
Every worker is directly verified for: right to work in the UK, valid and appropriate CSCS card, relevant tickets for the role, and photo ID. We do not use unverified third-party referral chains — all checks are done directly by EDA Group.
Most workers are placed through our PAYE payroll. CIS arrangements are available where the worker is genuinely self-employed and the circumstances are appropriate. We assess each placement individually and discuss the right arrangement before confirming.
Call us immediately — we'll work to find cover as fast as possible. Workers with a pattern of no-shows are removed from our active register. We take site disruption seriously.
Yes — a temp-to-perm arrangement is possible. A transfer fee applies as set out in our Terms of Business, or an opt-out notice period alternative can be agreed. Contact us to discuss the terms for your situation.
We issue weekly invoices backed by signed timesheets. Charge rates are agreed before supply begins and do not change without notice. No hidden charges — transparent margin throughout.
Getting Paid — PAYE
Every Friday via BACS transfer directly into your bank account. Hours worked Monday to Sunday are paid the following Friday. Make sure your hours are signed off by your site contact at the end of every week.
Gross pay (hours × rate), Income Tax deducted, National Insurance deducted, any pension contribution, holiday pay accrual, and your net take-home. Employer NI and employer pension are listed for information only — these do not come out of your pay.
Contact EDA Group the same day, before 5pm wherever possible. Call 020 3987 9897. We acknowledge all pay queries the same day and resolve within one payroll cycle. Never wait until the next pay day.
CIS — Construction Industry Scheme
CIS applies to workers who are genuinely self-employed subcontractors. If you attend a site and are told when to arrive, what to do, and when to leave by a site manager, you are likely employed (PAYE) rather than self-employed. EDA Group will assess your situation before confirming which arrangement applies.
If you are registered with HMRC as a CIS subcontractor: 20% is deducted. If you are not registered: 30% is deducted. If HMRC has granted you gross payment status: 0% is deducted. To register, visit gov.uk/register-as-subcontractor.
Yes — you must complete a Self Assessment return every year. Your monthly CIS deduction statements from EDA Group show the tax already deducted, which is offset against your tax bill. Keep every statement — many CIS workers receive a rebate at year end.
